The highest point in Malta was the first on another trip that included a hattrick of country high points.

First up though was this little island of with an approximate population of 550,000 which similar to my home city of Liverpool, madness.

I’d been to Malta before on a bit of a holiday break, great little country which an amazing historic capital city.

This one is a bit of strange one as there’s no officially marked high point, it’s just somewhere along a short route on the Dingli cliffs and is marked on Google as Ta’ Dmejrek.

Route Overview

I landed around midday, jumped in my hire car (which was £6 btw) and set off on the 25 minute drive to the high point. I parked up on the side of the cliffs and got stuck into my boots meal deal, before heading over the mound where the point on Google Maps was located.

There were a fair few people out doing the same thing, all of us wondering is it here, or over there, or a little bit further down the road?

So as per my internet research the easiest thing to do was to walk all of the route and get a few snaps on what look like the potential different high points along the way.

I didn’t even bother whipping the watch on, but it was around a 1.5-2km walk and at the end I found a great little bar over looking the sea, had a pint and killed a few hours in the sun before my onward flight to Rome.

What was funny about this one too, although my watch is a watch first and foremost, it was showing up heights of about 262-270m on the altimeter. So who knows what the official height actually is.

But all possible points covered which is another country high points ticked off!
