Country High Point #13 – Monaco – Chemin des Revoires (162m)

The highest point of Monaco is literally a road called Chemin des Revoires, it was the 1st high point in another double header European trip.

This trip was also a special one as it was the first family trip we’d taken as a 3, this time baby O was with myself and Jo. He even got to bag his first country high point peak, well, if you want to call a road where the France and Monaco border meet with some high rise flats blocking the view, a peak, then yeah.

I keep telling Jo though, they all count, big or small, stunning horizon mountain top, or shithead plaque on the side of a road with people’s knickers hanging out to dry on the balcony opposite.

Route Overview

So the easiest way to bag this high point is by taking a day trip to Monaco and double it up as that.

A very small nation nestled within France. You can tell the place stinks of money, just by the various supercars rocking about on every street corner.

Worth a visit though, we headed to the Japanese gardens, took a nose inside the Casino and just trotted about really for a couple of hours. The highpoint was at the top of where we drove in, there’s plenty of parking all across Monaco anyway, once parked, we then went up a few flights of stairs and the highpoint as mentioned is pretty much on the border on the road, I’ve linked the Google Maps directions above. It’s right in front of some flats, so don’t expect anything spectacular, unless you’re a flat enthusiast.

If you started at the bottom of Monaco you could easily head up the hill in about 20-30 minutes with as a nice steady stroll and hit it from there.

We stayed in the amazing St Paul De Vence as part of this trip, a perfect base to explore around Nice, Antibes and the rest of the Cote d’Azur.

Next up was over to the Pyrenees and to bag Coma Pedrosa, Andorra’s highest point.
